About the Founder

As a woman who has been on a 22-year fitness journey, I can say with confidence that strength/weight training has truly transformed my life. My name is Romana Gašperin (Romy), and I am the founder of the Romy Strong brand. My passion for strength training started when I was 34 years old, and my daughter Urška was 12. I was suffering from chronic back pain due to work-related strain, and weight training 'miraculously' helped me overcome it. That breakthrough marked the beginning of my journey towards a stronger, healthier, and happier version of myself.

I dedicated myself to weight training with discipline and learned a lot along the way. Today, I train at least four times a week for about an hour, and if I can squeeze in more workouts, even better! I have seen incredible results that have not only helped me understand my body better but also enhanced my quality of life. With my regular body composition analysis, I can see that my biological age is consistently lower than my chronological age. I maintain good symmetry between my left and right muscle pairs, appropriate body hydration, a below-average amount of fat mass, and an above-average amount of muscle mass.

To prevent injuries, I lift, carry, lower, push, pull, or move lighter loads and focus on muscular endurance and strength development. I take my time to perfect each move and prioritize health care and preventive action. With my dedication to weight training, I have not needed the help of a physiotherapist, kinesiologist, or doctor (except a dentist), successfully preventing accidents, injuries, health impairments, and diseases.

My training regimen consists of exercises for all muscle groups, with which I evenly develop and strengthen all muscles. My three favorite exercises are jumping jacks, push-ups, and planks. Jumping jacks are great for strengthening the heart, blood vessels, and lungs, building muscles, burning fat, and firming and shaping legs and buttocks. Push-ups are perfect for developing and maintaining the strength of chest muscles, arm muscles, shoulders, and the core. Planks are excellent for firming up abdominal, back, chest, shoulder, thigh, and gluteal muscles.

But it's not just about exercise. Nutrition is equally important in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I make sure to prepare three nutrient-rich meals a day and never skip a meal. By doing this, I don't experience hunger pangs or cravings for unhealthy foods. I eat a varied, natural, and seasonal diet that is appropriate for the time of year. I love creating dishes and singing along while I cook!

To fuel my body, I include plenty of complex carbohydrates, high-quality protein sources, and healthy fats in my meals. This provides me with enough energy for physical activities and maintaining bodily functions. I also make sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

Establishing good habits is the key to a more confident and self-loving lifestyle. It takes hard work, dedication, consistency, and discipline to achieve your goals. But with appropriate and regular exercise, proper nutrition, good sleep, and constructive stress management, you can lead a more beautiful and kinder life.

I am a firm believer that the mind and body are connected, and that's why it's essential to work on both. By believing in myself and avoiding excuses, I have successfully prevented injuries and health impairments. I have never been on a diet, and I eat everything in moderation. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and I make sure to enjoy it to the fullest.
